One of our generous supporters, who has asked to remain anonymous, has offered to provide $100,000 in matching funds to support Onyxx Village Connection’s Compassion on Wheels Expansion Project – purchasing a mobile kitchen.

Onyxx Village Connection (OVC) restores the dignity of underserved individuals and families in East Palo Alto and surrounding communities, building consistent personal connections with love. OVC helps the whole person nurture their mind, body and soul by delivering meals, resources and compassion through mobile outreach and partnerships.

Our Story
Since 2015, OVC has been on a mission to meet the urgent needs of individuals and families navigating the vicious cycle of homelessness, hunger, and poverty. Our goal is to increase their possibility of successful outcomes by delivering meals and resources directly to
the community.

Through compassion on wheels, we meet the homeless, underemployed, seniors, children, and the working poor where they are by bringing nutritious meals, community resources and hygiene products to them! Whether they are under highways or living in encampments – we go where we are needed and do what is needed for those who are in need!

OVC grassroots efforts began with the team serving hot meals out of the back of our PT Cruiser on the basis of need meeting compassion. In June 2020, we purchased our cargo van, which has expanded our capacity to distribute 1500-2000 meals and numerous resources weekly in East Palo Alto and surrounding cities.

As hunger and food scarcity ravage our cities, we must scale our impact to meet the growing needs of our community. The Compassion on Wheels Expansion Project will encompass purchasing a mobile food kitchen to deliver on demand food services and increase our responsiveness to the needs of our community.
